ZONA MACO: 2023 Edition of LATIN AMERICA’S LARGEST FAIR

04 Jan 2023 ZONA MACO: 2023 Edition of LATIN AMERICA’S LARGEST FAIR

Comprised of 4 parts, Arte Contemporáneo, Diseño, Foto and Salón, Mexico City's premier art fair returns to the most populous North-American city in early February. The ninth volume of Feria Material at Expo Reforma will be occurring at the same time as ZONA MACO.

Latin America's largest art fair has sparked considerable interest amongst our members, and we provide support with tickets and suggestions for fair-goers.

The five-day ZONA MACO fair will run from February 8th to the 12th, ending just before the commencement of Frieze LA, about 1500 miles to the North. Tom Postma's Netherlands-based studio will again design the fair's floorplan within the halls of Centro Citibanamex.

Representing the hometown are Galería de Arté Mexicano, Karen Huber, Hilario Galguera, Proyectos Monclova, Morán Morán and many more. Also representing Mexico are galleries from Guadalajara, Monterrey, Tulum, Oaxaca, Vitacura, and Monterrey. In total, more than 120 galleries from across the globe will present work for the 2023 edition of the fair.

The appropriately named Arte Contemporáneo section of the fair will feature young and mid-career projects, contemporary works and historical modern art pieces. Within Arte Contemporáneo are four components. The main section presents leading international galleries, Sur focuses on artists from the Global South, Modern Art showcases historical works, and Ejes reflects society's current state.

Of the three remaining parts, Diseño features furniture, jewellery, textiles, and everyday and decorative objects, Foto has photographic and video media, and Salón shows antiques, plastics and other arts beyond the academic scope.
