May is shaping up to be an exciting month across the globe, filled with major blockbusters, leading art fairs, and the much-anticipated architectural edition of the Venice Biennale.

Venice Architectural Biennale — 10 May–23 November 2025, Venice

Curated by architect Carlo Ratti, this year’s Venice Architecture Biennale will spotlight bold ideas shaping the future of our built environment under the theme 'Intelligens: Natural. Artificial. Collective'. One of the most anticipated highlights is On Storage, the Biennale’s ninth collaboration with London’s Victoria and Albert Museum. Curated by Brendan Cormier in partnership with Diller Scofidio + Renfro (DS+R), the project will explore the global architecture of storage.

Frieze New York — 7–11 May 2025, The Shed, New York

Frieze New York returns with over 65 galleries. We’re especially excited about the performance-driven programme, which includes a new piece by Berlin-based artist Pilvi Takala, known for her subtle disruptions that challenge social norms and notions of discomfort. TEFAF New York — 9–13 May 2025, Park Avenue Armory, New York

TEFAF New York will once again present museum-quality works across eras. Rumoured highlights include a 1933 bust by Alberto Giacometti, a glass coffee table by Zaha Hadid showcasing her signature curves, and work on paper from Park Seo-Bo’s renowned Ecriture series.

Do Ho Suh: Walk the House — 1 May–19 October 2025, Tate Modern, London

This Genesis Exhibition invites visitors to step through intricate life-sized fabric sculptures of Suh’s past homes, spanning Seoul, New York, and London, exploring themes of memory, migration, and belonging.

V&A East Opening — 31 May 2025, Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, London

The long-awaited V&A East opens this month, offering a bold new approach to museum spaces with a focus on archives and contemporary culture. Recent acquisitions include Molly Goddard’s pink AW19 dress worn by Beyoncé in her 2020 visual album Black is King — and we can’t wait to see it!

ARCO Lisboa — 29 May–1 June 2025, Cordoaria Nacional, Lisbon

ARCO Lisboa returns, bringing together top galleries from Portugal, Spain, and beyond. While in town, don’t miss the recently opened Museu de Arte Contemporânea Armando Martins (MACAM) and the newly renovated Centro de Arte Moderna Gulbenkian (CAM), currently showing a major exhibition featuring Paula Rego and Adriana Varejão.

Met Gala and Costume Institute Exhibition — 5 May 2025, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York

The Met Gala will launch Superfine: Tailoring Black Style, an exhibition tracing the role of tailoring in shaping Black identities from the 18th century to today. Through garments, paintings, photographs, and decorative arts, it explores dandyism as both an aesthetic and a powerful strategy for social and political change.
