London Art Spaces Show Out for upcoming Gallery Weekend

16 May 2023 London Art Spaces Show Out for upcoming Gallery Weekend

As the spring sun casts its rays over the bustling streets of London, an air of anticipation blankets the city like a veil of creativity. Artists, curators, and art enthusiasts prepare for an extraordinary event—the upcoming London Gallery Weekend. It's a celebration that promises immerse attendees in a world of artistic wonder, thanks to the over 150 participating contemporary galleries.

At spaces like Bowman Sculpture, special presentations that make bold statements have been prepared. Their show, The Power of She: A Tribute to Women in the Arts, is a ground-breaking curatorial initiative from a duo of accomplished women curators Marie-Claudine Llamas and Mica Bowman. Other shows see firsts for artists, like the late artist Matthew Wong's first solo exhibition in the United Kingdom at MassimoDeCarlo.

In Mayfair, many of the prominent players are present, exhibiting work from well known artists in group and solo presentations. Still, thanks to the sheer number of participating art spaces, many emerging talents will find themselves included in this encompassing weekend art event.

Galleries also have programming scheduled to meet the moment. Visitors can appease their own appetite for creativity at Gagosian's drop in drawing session, Sid Motion hosts a talk with their exhibiting artists, Jamie Fitzpatrick discusses his solo show over breakfast and plenty of other engagements populate the gallery weekend calendar.

So, mark your calendars, for the upcoming London Gallery Weekend promises to be an immersive journey into the realms of imagination and beauty.
