Inaugural Edition: Paris+ par Art Basel

12 Sep 2022

Descend upon the city of Love for the very first edition of Paris+ par Art Basel at the Grand Palais Éphémère and Champ de Mars from October 19 to 23.

With a high concentration of Parisian galleries partaking in the global art fair, Paris+ focuses on furthering the city's long-standing position as a cultural capital. The Galerie sector is the main attraction, presenting the highest quality art of all forms. Galeries Émergentes is dedicated to emerging galleries, with 16 solo presentations in total. The final sector, Sites, will see publicly accessible sculptures occupy symbolic settings across the city.

Paris+ par Art Basel will be the premier fall attraction, but three more concurrent fairs are sure to stimulate attendees. The FIAC (International Contemporary Art Fair) allows artists to interact with historic Parisian locations in the appropriately-named exhibition of outdoor sculptures and installations, Hors Les Murs (outside the walls). Paris Internationale is the alternative art fair near Place Vendôme that sets out to shake up traditional fair models in its eighth edition. Finally, Monnaie de Paris is hosting the eighth ASIA NOW Paris Asian Art Fair.

The Cultivist is particularly excited about three galleries that will boast exhibitions while also participating in Paris + par Art Basel: Jim Dine's Grace and Beauty at Galerie Templon, Gabriel Orozco's Diario de Plantas at Galerie Chantal Carousel and L'Objet Invisible, with work from Alberto Giacometti and Fred Sandback at David Zwirner Paris.

Museums continue to deliver the classics as well. Foundation Louis Vuitton stages an unprecedented dialogue between the works of exceptional artists Claude Monet and Joan Mitchell, and Musée D'Orsay presents a comprehensive Edvard Munch retrospective of paintings, drawings, prints and engravings.

Since Paris is a perennial center of the art world, The Cultivist has prepared a catalog of events throughout the art fair and can grant members entry to partner museums across the city. Click here to inquire about our membership options.
