GEARING UP FOR MIAMI ART WEEK

22 Nov 2023 GEARING UP FOR MIAMI ART WEEK

Art Basel Miami Beach headlines an always-anticipated Miami Art Week. The coveted fair continues to host an immense amount of galleries, as there will be 277 of them participating. The show is also under new direction with Bridget Finn, formerly of Reyes|Finn, Mitchell-Innes & Nash and Anton Kern Gallery, serving as the fair's newly appointed director. We will be showing up to South Beach in a big way this year, hosting a plethora of exciting events; read below for more information on our 2023 programme.

ALEX ISRAEL'S 'SNOW BEACH FROZEN TREATS'

Alex Israel's Snow Beach Frozen Treats is an immersive installation celebrating visionaries across the arts. Presented in partnership with Capital One, Snow Beach Frozen Treats is an artistic reimagination of a nostalgic California-inspired frozen yoghurt shop, accessible for a limited time only during Miami Art Week. Our members are invited to the installation to indulge in frozen yoghurt flavours and a toppings bar specially crafted by chefs Dominique Crenn and José Andrés.

FIRST LOOK AND PRIVATE TOUR AT THE BUNKER ARTSPACE

Our Club-Level members will get the chance to join us for an exclusive first look and private tour of The Bunker Artspace in West Palm Beach ahead of New Wave Art Weekend. The Bunker, originally a 1920s toy factory turned Art Deco building, hosts rotating exhibitions and displays the Beth Rudin DeWoody Collection, offering a unique space to exhibit a wide range of contemporary art alongside iconic furniture and curiosities. The 2023/2024 Guest Curator, Peter Harkawik, will present an exhibition focused on artist families and their interpersonal relationships, featuring works by artists like the Saar family, Deborah Kass, and Hank Willis Thomas, as well as a special installation of artist-made chairs and two-dimensional interiors.

PRIVATE BREAKFAST AND TOUR OF THE BASS MUSEUM

Our members get to start the day at The Bass Museum with an exclusive breakfast and curator-led tour hosted by The Cultivist, in partnership with Exclusive Resorts, before heading to the fairs. The Bass is currently showcasing exhibitions featuring works by Nam June Paik, Etel Adnan, Hernan Bas, and Anne Duk Hee Jordan, exploring themes like climate, conceptualism, technology, and social networks, promising to inspire and captivate attendees. We'll enjoy breakfast in the Lindemann Family Courtyard and a private tour of the exhibitions before the museum's public opening.

ANNUAL ARTIST LUNCH

The Cultivist's highly anticipated annual Miami Artist Lunch brings together members, artists, and curators worldwide. This year's event will be held at The Grove in the vibrant W Hotel South Beach, offering an opportunity for members to relax and connect during the bustling fair week. The artist honoree for this year's event is yet to be announced, so check back in soon for more information.
