A Saturday in Bushwick with Nick Doyle
16 Feb 2026
Ahead of our studio visit with Nick Doyle we asked him his favourite places to spend the weekend in Bushwick, a neighbourhood whose layered histories and eclectic spirit echo the themes running through his practice.

Breakfast at La Cabra
Begin the day with breakfast at La Cabra, a spacious coffee shop with delicious pastries, born out of Denmark. While there, check out their signature cardamom buns, which are typically not found in many NY coffee or pastry shops.

Plant Shopping at Little Shop of Soil
Make a stop at Little Shop of Soil, a local plant nursery that also sells beautiful ceramics from local designers as well as carefully tended greenery. Founded in Bushwick and rooted in community, their offerings include a diverse range of houseplants, artisan ceramics, and essential plant care items, alongside home goods like candles, incense, and dried florals.

Lunch at La Cantine
For lunch, check out La Cantine. A spot that offers a retro, 60s-inspired nod to European luncheonettes; casual, convivial, and full of character, serving delicious salads and sandwiches.

Evening Rollerskating at Xanadu
As night falls, head out to Xanadu, a technicolour roller rink where motion, music, and spectacle collide! The hand-painted maple floor and immersive sound system create a heightened, almost cinematic atmosphere, a fitting finale to a day in Bushwick.
